Commerce Public Library


Commerce Public Library is located in the historic former Post Office in downtown Commerce, and is owned and operated by the Friends of the Commerce Public Library.

We serve people in Hunt County and its surrounding areas.

Our holdings include books,  DVDs, audio tapes, CDs,  public computer work stations for internet access and desktop applications and free WiFi for your devices.  We offer fax and copy services, IRS forms, newspapers (both current and archived) and a public meeting room.  We are also a Passport Acceptance Agency and photos are available.

Our Local History and Geneology collection contains books, photographs and memorabilia dating back to the late 1800s. The Commerce Journal has been digitized an can be found at

We offer classes in GED preparation, ESL and Adult Basic Education.

Our Children's programs include preschool story time, kids' computers, and a popular Summer Reading Club.  Family Nights on Thursday evenings from 6-8 offer more programs for the entire family. *During COVID no in-person events are being held and children's computers are not available.
